Usually, it contains 2 main systems, magnetic stripe and RFID microchip.

1. Magnetic Stripe Card: Loco 300OE Loco, Hico 2750OE.
2. RFID(NFC) Card: 125KHz, 13.56MHz

 

As the ID card typically have barcode (serial number) and magnetic stripe (chip), it could be encoded to associate with each other. Encoding the same data of the barcode (serial number) into the magnetic stripe (chip). When you scan a card, the data in the magnetic stripe appears the same on the card.
